Lounge chair Charles and Ray Eames 1956 modern classics
Lounge Chair by Charles and Ray Eames accompanies the wish of a well-known director Billy Wilders for a modern and at the same time comfortable chair. Whether alone this can be regarded as the cause of origin of the lounge chair, is questionable; but he is actually considered the first owner of the first prototype. The Lounge Chair presents itself as a chic, contemporary interpretation of the classic club chair. The design combines comfort and simplicity. The Lounge Chair is completed by the Ottoman in the same stylish design.
Charles and Ray Eames succeeded in finding surprising structural and aesthetic solutions.
This lounge chair has already been included in the MoMA design collection in New York.
