Charles Rennie Mackintosh (born June 7, 1868 in Glasgow; † 10 December 1928 in London) was a Scottish architect, artisans, designers, graphic artists and painters. He was one of the leading personalities of the Art Nouveau movement of the late 19th century and gave the modern design impetus. Mackintosh is therefore regarded as an influential forerunner of Modern Art.
