Tulip dining table round by Eero Saarinen 1958
The Tulip table is the first one-legged table in furniture history. The famous Bauhaus designer Eero Saarinen designed it in the 1950s. His plan was to do something about the boring and ugly four-legged tables. He used an aluminum pillar base to provide a clear design and as a table top he chose different shape (round, or ovale) and used material - laminate, or marble.
The result is the elegant round Tulip dining table 519 which likes to be used as a conference table, whose sweeping shape creates a sophisticated impression in all environments.
Of course, matching tulip chairs are also available for these impressive tulip tables.
Eero Saarinen tried to do something about the boring shapes of the chairs and tables, which he found to be a mess. After a long development, a one-legged furniture of tulips tables and chairs was created for tulips tables and chairs.
