Tulip chair by Eero Saarinen 1956
This Tulip Chair was designed in 1955 - 1956 by famous Bauhaus designer Eero Saarinen for Knoll Company in New York City. It was designed primarily to complement the "Complementary Dining Table" with chairs. The chair has the smooth lines of modernity and was experimental with materials at this time. Today it is considered a classic of industrial design. A great use of the Tulip Chair is also found in science fiction series Star Trek.
