Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto (born February 3, 1898 in Kuortane, Finland, † May 11, 1976 in Helsinki, Finland), a Finnish architect and designer, is in the sign of the Classical Modernism. By participating in the Congrès International d'Architecture, this circle was extended to include Walter Gropius. In 1929, Aalto's design won the tender for a sanatorium in Paimio, which can be considered as the foundation stone for the organic construction that characterized Alto's work. Alvar Aalto became known for his special conceptions in the field of organic construction. He was influenced by the German Werkbund and Bauhaus. He aspired in the sense of organic architecture, a close connection of people and the environment.
